Marvelous McConnell’s

Week 8! It’s spring break for me currently, so I have all the time in the world. I decided what better way to celebrate spring break with a delicious scoop or two of McConnell’s icecream? That being said, I began my adventure down to the famed icecream place, known for it’s delicious icecream and variety of flavors. When I arrived, there was a few things I noticed. Parking was a bit of a challenge, as they had a relatively small parking lot. We were able to find a spot on the side of the street just up the road, however, so it all worked out. They have an outdoor seating area, that has shade and is relatively comfortable. They do have inside seating, however I would recommend the outside seating any day, due to the fact that the inside seating is  bit cramped, due to the stores relatively small size. Beyond that, though, there are few criticisms you can make. The atmosphere in the place is nice, and the staff is very friendly.

Speaking of the staff, I was greeted by a very nice man upon approaching the counter. I had made up my mind, and decided that i’d be going with the cookies and creams, and the mint chip. (So much for my diet!) I chose to go with a large, fresh waffle cone that was beautiful just to look at. My mother ordered as well, opting to get her icecream in a cup. Smart choice, I would soon learn.

The flavor of the icecream was great. It wasn’t too overpowering, and the individual flavors alone were excellent. Also, they didn’t blend too much, which is good in this case. The biggest fear when getting a double scoop is that the flavors overlap to create something disgusting- this was not the case here. The cone was perfectly cooked, only adding to the flavor. I could tell that it wasn’t stale, which is a big problem for many icecream places. I finished up my cone while chatting with my mom. We both agreed it tasted excellent, and headed off, satisfied with your midday snack.

Now, for the official review. The flavor was good. Not much can be said there. They had perfected the flavor of the icecream, and it was just as creamy as anyone could hope. The waffle cone was, as said before, perfect. Aesthetically, the place looked fairly decent. It was a bit cramped, however it ultimately didn’t take away too much from the experience. The icecream itself looked very nice- they seemed to really care about the presentation of their icecream. Price was alright. It was a bit on the pricey side, however looking back, I for sure would pay that price again.

Flavor: 9/10

Price: 7/10

Overall: 8/10

I would recommend you taking a trip to McConnell’s. Their staff does for sure seem to care about the customers, and they make the experience quite enjoyable. My only advice would be that you go park on the street nearby, as i’m sure the parking lot has caused many, many rear-ends and scratches.  So go, check out McConnell’s. Let me know what you think of it. Do you like it, or do you not? Let me know in the comments! Also, let me know what I should do next week. Should I do a recipe, or a review? I’ll see you all next week!

Excellent summary of McConnell’s. I agree ..the ice cream tastes great and I’m sure does so due to the real cream they use to make it the old fashion best way. The staff is/was very courteous and yes, I’ll use your recommendation on the side street parking! thanks very much.
